Once again, late summer is upon us and that means changes are around the corner.  The Calendar Year (CY) 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Proposed Rule and the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Final Rule were both published on August 7, 2023. Both rules contain important updates for SNFs and Part B outpatient therapy providers. Along with the usual payment updates, both rules continue to move healthcare further down the road of quality reporting and value-based payment structures.  The rules also provide some insight into policy considerations for future years.

This webinar will take a look at both rules and discuss a number of areas important to SNF providers and their suppliers as well as Part B therapy providers. Topics will include proposals for new CPT codes, refinements to current CPT codes, technology updates, and policy proposals for supervision.  Additionally, the webinar will share updates to the Patient Driven Payment Model, the SNF Quality Reporting Program, and the SNF Value Based Purchasing Program.

Learning Objectives

1. Describe proposals to update the components of Part B payment, including relative value units, geographic indices, the Medicare Economic Index, and the conversation factor.

2. Identify changes impacting key components of the PDPM components that may result in your rates increasing or decreasing in the new FY.

3. Outline key updates to the SNF QRP and SNF VBP for FY 2024 and future years.

4.  Examine the opportunities for advancing clinical practice models under these new policies.
