About this course:
Respiratory diseases are a prevalent cause of death and disability in the United States. They are frequently encountered in every therapy setting, requiring proper assessment and interventions to optimize function. This 90 minute intermediate level course for SLPs addresses assessment and interventions for swallowing and voicing. Through instruction and lab demonstration, this course provides the essential information necessary for clinicians to understand how to assess breathing rate and pattern and how to perform evidence-based pulmonary rehab interventions to geriatric patients in a safe, efficacious, and time-efficient manner. This course is offered for 1.5 hour ASHA CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area). **Individual registration, attendance via unique device and passing posttest with 70% of better are required to qualify for ASHA CEUs.
