About this course:
This two hour course is intended to provide clinicians with the most current in-depth information about the essentials of electrotherapy. The course materials and clinical protocols presented are evidence-based and oriented to immediate clinical application of therapeutic electrical stimulation. The lab demonstration reinforces concepts and techniques using electrotherapy applications for common treatment indications in physical rehabilitation.

This one-hour intermediate level course for PT/PTAs and OT/OTAs is part of a series of Accelerated Clinical Practice courses. Motor learning in neurorehabilitation leverages the effects of neuroplasticity for the acquisition and modification of movement. Task-specific practice within motor learning should be focused primarily at the activity/participation levels to support function and improve occupational performance. This course reviews motor learning mechanisms, with a focus on incorporating knowledge of performance, knowledge of results, use-dependent learning, and sensorimotor adaptation into task practice. There is additional emphasis on clinical strategies for the foundational principles of neuroplasticity.
