Respiratory diseases are a prevalent cause of death and disability in the United States. They are frequently encountered in every therapy setting, requiring proper assessment and interventions to optimize function. This 90 minute intermediate level course for PT/PTAs and OT/OTAs is part of the ACP Accelerated Clinical Practice Series. Through instruction and lab demonstration, this course provides the essential information necessary for clinicians to understand how to assess breathing rate and pattern and how to perform evidence-based pulmonary rehab interventions to geriatric patients in a safe, efficacious, and time-efficient manner.
