Through a didactic lecture and lab demonstration, this course provides the attention necessary to achieve proficiency in the use and application of functional and neuro re-education PENS to muscles in the Lower Quadrant. The course includes a review of literature regarding muscle activation, physiology research, and functional outcomes associated with PENS applications. Additionally, the course covers the impact of PENS on physiological impairments and how it contributes to improved patient participation, activity, and functional performance.

Through instruction and lab demonstration, this course provides the essential information necessary for clinicians to understand how to assess breathing rate and pattern and how to perform evidence-based pulmonary rehab interventions to geriatric patients in a safe, efficacious, and time-efficient manner.
